“…to the praise of his glorious grace…” Ephesians 1:6

“Grace” is a word you hear a lot around our church. We sing it. We speak it. We celebrate it. Grace compels our obedience. It sustains our worship. It anchors our hope and fuels our joy. Grace is the very heart of our message and our ministry, because it is the very heart of the gospel.

In the Bible, saving grace is when an undeserving people (Christ-followers) receive from an unobligated Giver (God) an unbelievable gift (salvation in Jesus). This grace comes to us in spite of us. It can’t be merited, and it can’t be paid back. It’s not followed up with invoices or IOU’s or promissory notes. It can only be received with humble joy – like a man who found treasure in a field and in his joy sold all that he had to buy that field.

This saving grace is not predisposed to certain genders or ethnicities or social statuses. It’s good news of great joy for all people. That is, no one lies outside the scope of God’s saving grace. It extends to both prodigal and priest, the prisoner, the prostitute and the pretentiously pious alike.

This gospel of God’s grace can be summed up in four words: Jesus in our place.

Jesus came to live the life of perfect obedience that we fail to live. He came to satisfy the wrath and justice of God by dying the death that we deserve. He rose to conquer the power of sin and death on our behalf. And he reigns as our advocate before the Father until he returns to make all things new.

Grace came in the person of Jesus to liberate captives, to resurrect the dead, and to adopt sinners as sons and daughters of God. Grace reigns triumphant in our resurrected King. And this grace is freely yours through repentance and faith in Christ alone. We would love for you to join us as we, by God’s grace, learn to live in light of the gospel in every sphere of life!

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.” Titus 2:11-14
