“Knowing Them By Their Fruits”
A Study of the Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23
“By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.” Jesus (Jn. 15:8)
I. The God of PEACE (Phil. 4:9)
Peace is a communicable attribute of God which is the opposite of _________, confusion & unrest. cf. 1 Cor. 14:33 God is called “the God of peace” and Jesus is called “the ________ of Peace.” cf. 1 Th. 5:33; Heb. 13:20; Is. 9:6 The phrases “the peace of God” or “the peace from God”are found some ___ times in the N.T.. cf. Rom. 1:7 False prophets in the O.T. deceived people by saying, ‘Peace Peace!’ when there was no ________! cf. Jer. 6:14; 8:11 People today long for peace in a ________-filled, striferidden, anxiety-producing world! cf. Jn. 14:26-27; 16:33
II. The PEACE of God (Phil. 4:6-7)
It is no coincidence that the Good News of Jesus Christ is called the “Gospel of _______.” cf. Rom. 10:15; Eph. 6:15 Sinful man must first have “peace ______ God” before he can experience the “peace ___ God.” cf. Rom. 5:1; Eph. 2 In John 14:27, Jesus promises to ______ His followers His peace by means of the Holy Spirit. cf. Jn. 14:26-27 A true believer in Jesus Christ _______ needs to experience anxiety or worry when the “peace of God” is so available to us through prayer! cf. Phil. 4:6-7 – “guard” Because we are called to peace (1 Cor. 7:15), there is no reason obedient believers should live in ________! Jesus said, “Blessed are the ______________,” who are those who do all they can to “live at peace.” (Mt. 5:9) cf. Rom. 12:18; 14:19; 2 Cor. 13:11; Eph. 4:3; Heb. 12:14
